State of the Industry Corporate Report 2022: Why retaining staff is a rising challenge
Keeping hold of talented, experienced event professionals will be tough for many industry companies, agencies and teams over the next 12 months.
With competition for talent possibly the hottest it’s ever been, what are the main challenges for holding on to valued staff members?
Almost half of those surveyed (47%) said it would be difficult to retain talent in the next year. And, as with the difficulties surrounding recruitment, many respondents referenced the saturation of the market with new roles. “There are more jobs out there to apply for, so it’s even more tempting to leave,” said one respondent. “Employees are always seeking self- improvement and better work options,” agreed another.
Along with opportunities for career development and personal growth, money is a big driving factor. “It’s an employee market, businesses are struggling to attract top talent so staff can often get significant pay rises elsewhere,” explained one respondent.
