"We have a responsibility to bring opportunities to less privileged schools and areas.”

Rick Stainton, Founder of the Power of Events, chats ambitious plans for engaging young people in the industry.

A new pilot is bringing the events industry to school pupils across the UK. The Schools Engagement Programme was created by The Power Events who are educating young people about the range of career opportunities within the profession, with unique content that for the first time delivers the broadest content on the full scope of the UK Events Industry.

Launched in January 2024, the pilot region is being rolled out in East Anglia with plans to take it nationwide to pupils aged 13-18 from the Autumn term on September 2024.

“We go into schools and tell them about the seven sectors with the five routes to entry and explain what the event industry is made up of and the multiple jobs that are available within it,” says founder Rick Stainton. This Spring term, the programme engaged 3,000 pupils from 18 schools.
