A new report shows that a talent shortage is gripping the employment market with the vast majority, 80% of employers saying they cannot secure the talent they need.


This 18-year high is an increase from 78% in 2022, showing a steady climb towards a significant skills shortage. For those in the events industry this is a pressing concern.

The Talent Solutions Ultimate Retention Guide, brought by Manpower and HRreview is an analysis of current issues in the areas of employee recruitment and retention. The report indicates that 40% of employers believe that lack of skills is the biggest reason for entry level vacancies.

Retention issues are hitting all industries and for those working within the events profession, it is a key issue to get right, particularly given the skills required to put on large-scale events.
