The Inclusive Guide EVERY Event Planner Needs

Inclusivity and accessibility are matters that the MICE industry has constantly struggled to address.

Many agree that junior roles are far more inclusive than they used to be, but this isn’t enough. Head of Events at TBI Media, Nicci Holliday, says: “The industry is getting much more reflective of the diverse talent that’s out there, we can see that in junior roles. However in the senior jobs there isn't that balance - whether it be gender, ethnicity, disability - it isn’t represented.”

Outside of the internal events workforce, DEI and accessibility are elements that require huge focus to deliver any successful event. The ICC Sydney have recently launched their Accessible and Inclusive Events Guide, a resource for event planners to activate welcoming events that cater for everyone. In light of this, C&IT has taken a more in depth look into the history and future of accessibility and inclusivity within the MICE industry.
