Practical steps you can take now to manage stress

The key to managing stress is to be proactive, not reactive, says Joseph Charlton, Managing Director at Planit.

The four areas in which stress impacts us are emotional, physical, behavioural and cognitive. This means that while we may believe we are just having an emotional reaction, the effects of stress are insidious to our entire wellbeing.

Where lots of professional advice focuses on coping with the effects of stress on our minds and bodies, event professionals are well aware that stress is unavoidable in this industry.

This is why we need to get better by being proactive with stress, not reactive, says Joseph Charlton, Managing Director at Planit, speaking at the recent Events Accelerated event. “We need to do better to protect ourselves to secure the future of the industry, and implement new ways of working.”
