Pinterest chats Cannes, tattoos on the beach and gravity-defying events
Pinterest’s Senior Experiential Producer discusses how a stream of serendipitous jobs led to working on Cannes with one of the world’s biggest social media platforms.
For many event planners, the lure of events starts from a young age - perhaps stemming from organising a friend’s sleepover or a post-school holiday - yet, for Pinterest’s Stacey Mayhew, the story was quite different. The Senior Experiential Producer didn’t have events on her radar until long after graduating from University, “I ended up stumbling into events after working for many years in retail, leaving that world behind to take a short course in PR, Events Management & Marketing. I was looking for something that I could apply my skill set to, whilst also getting back to my creative roots.”
After a short internship in a small events agency, Stacey was hooked, knowing she’d finally found her calling, “that heady mix of strategic thinking, creative concepting and months of scrupulous planning ending in the crescendo of satisfaction that an event brings was certainly my cup of tea.”
