Discover how ICC Sydney sets the gold standard for delivering unforgettable events.
Let there be light
ICC Sydney is committed to delivering out-of-this-world experiences, and this starts with its in-house team. “They play a pivotal role in distinguishing us from other convention centres,” says Brian Nash, director of audio visual at ICC Sydney. “We offer a comprehensive range of exclusive technology, production, and support services, and our commitment to continuous investment in technology and innovation ensures we remain at the forefront of the industry.”
Let’s take a closer look.
Tailored audio, visual and lighting: With more than 60 HD projectors, LED walls, concert-grade audio systems and 4K broadcast camera systems, ICC Sydney is spearheading audio-visual (AV) technology. But, it’s not all about the sheer volume of tools and solutions. It’s about what organisers can do with them. The LED walls can be built to custom designs, and the ICC Sydney Audio Visual team can facilitate all levels of technical production tailored to any event needs.
In-house AV and ICT teams: “What really sets us apart is our team of over 200 skilled production professionals, the largest of its kind in an Australian venue,” says Nash. The in-house AV team of experts takes the stress out of event organisation, providing a range of services including setup, delivery and roll-out of all audio, lighting, vision, rigging, speaker preparation and digital signage requirements. Its dedicated ICT team manages and maintains all technical infrastructure, connectivity, and client enablement systems.
Branding and sponsorship: ICC Sydney has 350 digital signage points, 19 seven-metre external LED screens, and a 47.5sqm LED foyer screen across the venue and its precinct, ideal for organisers looking for branding and sponsorship opportunities with a wow factor.
AV graduate programme: ICC Sydney’s commitment to delivering an innovative audio-visual experience means it invests in the next generation of AV leaders through its own graduate programme. “I'm especially proud of our AV grad programme, which helps nurture the next generation of talent with vocational training and development opportunities,” says Nash.
Making connections
ICC Sydney’s Connect Hub delivers a one-stop shop for digital event solutions, managed by the in-house AV and ICT teams. “The Connect Hub transforms events with its digital solutions,” says Nash. “It features a dedicated broadcast studio, a digital concierge to support remote presenters seamlessly, and an advanced edit suite for refined content creation.”
Here’s what it offers.
ICC Sydney Connect: A customisable digital event platform and web app with real-time analytics, Connect helps organisers personalise their event experience. “Connect offers real-time engagement, enhanced interactivity, and valuable event insights, all managed by our expert AV team,” says Nash.
Speaker preparation centre: Events can be hectic, so ICC Sydney provides a fully-equipped demonstration area for speakers to practise and review presentations in a calming environment. Speakers can network all presentations to relevant meeting rooms, while experienced team members are on hand to review presentations if required.
Digital concierge: If a speaker or presenter can’t make it in person, ICC Sydney provides a dedicated digital concierge who meets them online, briefs them, and ensures they are tech-ready for live broadcast.
Digital media: From filming or editing footage to creating bespoke content, ICC Sydney has a Digital Media Suite with a dedicated team of designers who work with organisers to bring events to life. There is also a Media Studio with live-streaming and virtual event solutions, as well as high-quality broadcast recording technology. “These elements collectively elevate both onsite and online events to a level beyond traditional convention centres, delivering extraordinary event technology,” says Nash.
Get fully immersed
ICC Sydney’s iconic Darling Harbour Theatre offers best-in-class, in-house production equipment. This year ICC Sydney took events into the future with the launch of its immersive projection services.
“Event planners can work with the AV team to develop bespoke content to projection map the canvas of the Darling Harbour Theatre walls, or work with us on projection graphics for any other surface within the venue,” says Nash.
Let’s take a closer look.
Projection mapping: Forever committed to innovation, ICC Sydney now enables event planners to utilise 500sqm of dynamic content space in the Darling Harbour Theatre. The in-house AV team can develop bespoke projection mapping content with organisers to create breathtaking customised images across the theatre’s diamond acoustic wall panels.
Gadigal, Acknowledgment Respect Immersive Projection Experience: The immersive projection experience also provides attendees with the unique opportunity to connect with First Nations culture via an animated artwork by Boomalli artist Jeffrey Samuels. The immersive art can be embedded into the beginning of an event in Darling Harbour Theatre, for a donation to the artist, and help to create more socially impactful experiences.
